THREE YEAR SPIRITUAL FORMATION
AND DIRECTION INSTITUTE
THE SPIRITUAL FORMATION AND DIRECTION INSTITUTE is to provide opportunity, encouragement and environment for a participant to go deeper with God….to facilitate a transforming experience with Jesus Christ that is real! Time well spent with Jesus is Life Transforming!
Jesus' invitations to those noted in the Bible are also invitations offered to us in life now.
- “Come unto me, all of you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30
- “Live in me. Make your home in me just as I do in you.” John 15:4 (The Message)
- “I have loved you the way my Father has loved me. Make yourself at home in my love.” John 15:9 (The Message)
WHO SHOULD CONSIDER ATTENDING THE INSTITUTE?
The Institute is designed for:
Pastors, leaders in the Church and in the market place who want Christ to be more centered in their own life and in their leadership with others.
Christians who want to know Jesus more intimately and have less self-centered living.
People who are in some kind of transition, good or bad, that want their life to count and are looking to their relationship with Jesus to give them direction.
Christians who are bored or plateaued in their life and want to recover life in Christ that is again fulfilling and life-giving.
People who are seeking to develop skills of spiritual direction, either for ministry in general or who want to become a Spiritual Director.
The Institute is divided into two one-year experiences. Each year will have four retreats, one retreat occurring each quarter of the year: January, April, July and October. The retreats will take place at Mount Charleston Peak Hotel, beginning Sunday evenings and concluding on Tuesdays at 1pm. All meals will be provided by the hotel.
An optional Third year is available for those persons who desire to become a Spiritual Director, with Director recommendation.
Each year’s program and content is a complete curriculum and is finished after the final retreat in November. If you desire to continue on to Year Two, and then Year Three we welcome you to sign up and participate if you attended all four of the prior year’s retreats. The content of each year is designed to build on the previous year’s understanding and experience.
